This post is for those, who would like to try some new ways to consume their daily CBD by playing a little bit in the kitchen!
Until restaurants and cafes can legally serve CBD-infused food and beverages, your best bet is to cook up your own creations. Cooking with CBD is an easy and fun way to incorporate the wellness benefits of CBD into your daily routine, plus it’s fun to experiment with new flavour profiles. Try CBD in sweet and savoury dishes, and watch what happens!
Do you enjoy cooking, or not at all?
It doesn’t matter, because this can be a whole new chapter in the world of cooking. Don’t worry if you are not a pro in the kitchen, you can prepare basically anything and add CBD.
How to do it
When you consume CBD with your food, it is digested and absorbed much slower. It will probably be a milder experience than vaping or taking the oil directly. If you do not suffer from any conditions that require CBD to provide immediate relief, this method can be a nice and even distribution of CBD into your body, next to that it is fun sometimes to do something different with your food.

A simple way to add CBD to your food is in the form of CBD isolate in the form of powder or crystals. These can simply be blended into your food or sprinkled on a smoothie or sauce. You can even consume it on its own!
However, it is more common to cook with CBD oil as it can substitute vegetable or olive oil. It can be added to salad dressings, baked goods, or even used to sauté a piece of chicken or fish. There are tons of creative recipes out there or you can experiment by yourself. However, it is best to start with a recipe that you are familiar with to avoid complications.
First of all it is a good idea to start out making smaller batches of food when cooking with CBD. If it turns out that you like the recipe, you can always make it again without wasting ingredients and CBD on an experiment that did not quite work out how you expected.
Remember that some CBD oils have a strong earthy flavour that can be overpowering if you are not careful what you choose to blend it with. That is why baked goods are so popular – the sweetness of a cookie or cake can help cut the bitterness some people find unpleasant in CBD. The more refined your CBD oil, the less of that strong flavour is likely to come through. You can even find CBD Oils that use olive oil as a base and so the taste will be the same as if you used a regular olive oil, just with the benefits of CBD!
If there is one thing that you must be careful with when cooking with CBD is temperature. CBD has a boiling point of 160 to 180 Celsius, and cooking at temperatures above that can cause the CBD to evaporate, cooking it right out of your food. Additionally, high temperatures can destroy beneficial terpenes and nutrients, and it draws out the bitterness in the flavour. If you’re nervous about the cooking temps, blend CBD oil into a dressing or a sauce. CBD’s rich green flavour blends well into herbaceous sauces like pesto, chimichurri, and herb-infused oils.
As you can see, there are many possibilities when it comes to cooking with CBD.
You can also blend CBD oil into avocado for a flavourful guacamole or avocado toast with eggs; blend it into smoothies or yogurt, enjoy it with a salad dressing drizzled over roasted veggies or even add some CBD Honey to your morning tea. As you can see, there are many possibilities when it comes to cooking with CBD. So why not give it a try and let us know how you get on in the comment section bellow.
