Arthritis refers to a wide range of diseases that involve the inflammation of one or more joints in our bodies. Did you know that there are more than 100 different types of arthritis? Even more interesting, they all share a common feature: inflammation
The anti-inflammatory properties of cannabidiol have pointed scientists to the possibility that CBD could slow or even reverse the symptoms of arthritis. Although arthritis and CBD research is still in the early stages, the initial results look very promising.
Studies on rats have shown that CBD drastically reduces an acute arthritis model that affects many different types of disorders. While these studies imply that CBD can only indirectly affect arthritis, the findings themselves are encouraging. However, the exact mechanisms with which CBD interacts with arthritis aren´t fully understood yet.
Another indirect benefit that CBD seems to have when it´s administered for arthritis is that it reduces pain. Including prevalent rheumatoid arthritis. Even so, it´s still unclear whether the anti-inflammatory or analgesic properties play a role in the relief of pain. Some studies point to both, and if that´s proven over time, it can make CBD a widely accepted treatment for arthritis.
CBD is powerful enough and works consistently enough to replace the most widely accepted arthritis treatments today
In general, CBD seems a very promising alternative to treat arthritis and long-term joint inflammation in general. Some arthritis and cannabidiol studies have even shown surprisingly positive results. Even so, it is too early to make a conclusive decision about whether CBD is powerful enough and works consistently enough to replace the most widely accepted arthritis treatments today. However, the apparent lack of side effects of Cannabidiol makes it a potentially viable complementary treatment for arthritis.
